Light metals and high-density materials for special applications

In addition to established material groups, Jacques Allemann offers selected special materials such as aluminium and tungsten alloys. These materials meet specific requirements in terms of weight, density, thermal resistance and electrical properties, enabling precise solutions for demanding applications.

Aluminium and aluminium alloys

Aluminium alloys offer an impressive combination of low weight, good conductivity and corrosion resistance. Thanks to their high formability and good thermal properties, they are mainly used in the following areas:

• Reflectors & Sensor carriers
• Circuit board elements
• Lightweight structural components in the watchmaking industry
• EMC-compatible housings or shielding

Variants available cover both pure aluminium grades (e.g. EN AW-1050) and alloyed materials (e.g. EN AW-5052 or AW-7075) – depending on the desired combination of strength, formability and conductivity.

Tungsten and tungsten alloys

Tungsten is an exceptionally dense and temperature-resistant material with one of the highest melting points of all metals (~3420 °C). In alloy form, it is indispensable in applications with extreme requirements:

• Heavy metals for mass balance weights
• Contact and electrode materials
• X-ray and radiation protection components
• Watch technology (e.g. rotors, inertia elements)

Tungsten alloys (e.g. W-Ni-Fe, W-Cu) offer higher toughness and better workability compared to pure tungsten, combined with high density and mechanical stability.
