P558JA, also known as BÖHLER P558, is a nickel-free austenitic stainless steel designed for superior biomedical performance—commonly employed in medical devices, dental applications, and jewellery. It maintains a fine-grained austenitic microstructure without delta ferrite, offering excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding biocompatibility. With elevated nitrogen content and alloying elements including 17% chromium, 11% manganese, and 3% molybdenum, P558 outperforms standard ASTM F138 reference materials in resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and surpasses the thresholds of ASTM F1314 and F1586
