3.0255 - Aluminum 1050 / Al99.5 / AW-1050A / UNS A91050

Description

The material 3.0255 is the aluminium alloy EN AW 1050A with the chemical designation Al99.5 and the UNS designation A91050 according to EN 573 and EN 485.

EN AW 1050A also referred to as Al99.5 is an unalloyed aluminium with a minimum aluminium content of 99.5 percent. According to EN 573-3 the aluminium content is at least 99.5 percent. The maximum content of silicon and iron together is 0.50 percent, copper maximum 0.05 percent, manganese maximum 0.05 percent, magnesium maximum 0.05 percent, zinc maximum 0.05 percent, titanium maximum 0.03 percent, other elements each maximum 0.03 percent and total other elements maximum 0.10 percent.

The material 3.0255 EN AW 1050A Al99.5 UNS A91050 belongs to the group of non heat treatable wrought aluminium alloys. Strength is increased by cold working according to the temper conditions defined in EN 485. Precipitation hardening heat treatment is not applicable to EN AW 1050A.

EN AW 1050A has very high electrical conductivity. The electrical conductivity of aluminium 1050A is at least 34.5 m per ohm mm2 in temper H111 according to EN 573-3. The material 3.0255 is corrosion resistant in many natural environments due to the formation of a stable oxide layer. EN AW 1050A is weldable using common aluminium welding processes. The formability is high and the material is suitable for cold forming operations.

Typical applications of 3.0255 EN AW 1050A Al99.5 UNS A91050 include electrical conductors, busbars, foils, sheets, stamped and deep drawn parts as well as equipment and containers for chemical applications where high corrosion resistance and good formability are required.
