1.4452 - Austenitic stainless steel / X13CrMnMoN18-14-3 / P2000
Description
Material 1.4452 (austenitic stainless steel / X13CrMnMoN18 / P2000) – Properties and Applications
Material 1.4452, also designated as X13CrMnMoN18 or P2000, is an austenitic stainless steel alloyed with nitrogen for enhanced performance. It has been specifically developed for medical and precision engineering applications, offering excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding biocompatibility. Thanks to its balanced composition of chromium, manganese, molybdenum and nitrogen, 1.4452 provides superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, combined with higher strength compared to standard stainless steels such as 1.4301. Typical applications include surgical instruments, implant components, watch parts and highly stressed precision components. With its blend of corrosion resistance, strength and workability, P2000 is regarded as a premium modern stainless steel for demanding applications.
