Material 1.4307, designated X2CrNi18-9 and also known as AISI 304L or Z3CN19-09, is a low-carbon version of the widely used stainless steel 1.4301. Its reduced carbon content improves resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding, making it particularly suitable for welded structures. This grade is widely applied in chemical engineering, tank and vessel construction, as well as in food and beverage processing. Common applications include piping systems, heat exchangers, storage tanks and structural components exposed to humid or mildly aggressive environments.
