The material 1.4306, designated X2CrNi19-11 and commercially known as AISI 304L or Z3 CN18-10, is an austenitic stainless steel. Its low carbon content ensures excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly after welding, making it suitable for components that cannot be heat treated after fabrication. 1.4306 combines very good corrosion resistance in a wide range of environments with outstanding formability and weldability. Typical applications include food processing equipment, plant engineering, piping systems, chemical installations and architectural elements, where both durability and appearance are important.
