The material 1.1014, also known as unalloyed mild steel or C10C, is characterised by excellent cold formability, easy machinability and reliable weldability. Due to its low carbon content, 1.1014 is widely used for cold drawn and cold rolled products in mechanical engineering, fasteners and simple structural parts. Typical properties and applications are found where good forming behaviour is more important than high strength. Thanks to its balanced processing characteristics, unalloyed mild steel 1.1014 plays an important role in the steel industry and general metalworking.
