Material 1.0759, also designated as Labor PB or 70 SPb 20, is an unalloyed quenched and tempered steel with increased carbon content and a lead addition for improved machinability. It is characterised by good workability, high surface quality and a balanced combination of strength and toughness after heat treatment. Typical applications include shafts, bolts, gears, fasteners, screws and other mechanically stressed parts in machinery and automotive engineering. With its combination of hardenability, wear resistance and excellent machinability, 1.0759 is a cost-effective material for precision components in medium-duty applications.
